Course Description: This course is designed to develop oral communication skills and analytical skills. We will help you build your self-confidence and increase fluency as a speaker. We will study the mechanics and expression of speech construction. We will also explore the role that the bias and persuasion has played in the media and society. Current Unit: This unit is called "It's Up For Debate!" We will be doing various activities to prepare for the debate speech. Students will use the internet to research the pros or cons for their topic as well as provide their own personal opinion for their topic. They will be graded on organization and clarity, opening argument and main points, the use of questions and answers and the use of their verbal and non-verbal presentation.
